In Which Miracles Happen

I'm at a loss for words, which those of you who know me personally rather than just online can attest doesn't happen very often.

Every time we've been on the verge of collapse, every time our situation seems impossible, someone has stepped in and helped us get back on our feet.

I have been overwhelmed time and time again by the amazing, selfless generosity of those around us who have given so much support physically and emotionally to our family over the past month. Cards, letters, and e-mails full of prayers and well wishes arrive in droves each week. Today a number of people pitched in without us having to ask to provide us with help cleaning, with meals, and with keeping our spirits up. We also received some news so amazing I can't help but tear up while I'm typing.

Someone is gifting us with a wheelchair accessible van. We will go pick it out, and they will provide the means. They wish to remain anonymous, and have asked us to give our thanks not to them, but to God who continues to provide for us.

I have no words to express what that means to us.

Thank you.

Praise be to the Lord,
for he has heard my cry for mercy.
The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and I am helped.
Psalm 28:6-7

Such amazing news. I am not only so very, very happy for your family that you're able to have a little piece of your lives made easier, but also in knowing that true, selfless kindness and giving still exist in this world of ours!

Jessie, Mom told me this evening, and it makes me tear up a bit too. I'm so happy for you, and as Mia put quite well, it's so uplifting to know that such generosity exists, and that it has been directed in such a wonderful and deserving direction. Wugaboo.

I read yesterday about your need for a van and felt so sad and frustrated for you since you couldn't seem to make it work out.

Praise God, from whom ALL blessings flow!

This post made me tear up with happiness. It's amazing what generosity finds its way to us when we stay positive and keep things in perspective. You are so strong, but if anyone needs a little relief right now, it's you!

I remember years ago, Michael J. Fox told of how he cries--not for the bad in the world, but for how much good there is. I think of him saying that and how very true it is. I'm happy that this came to your family and that it will make one less thing to worry about.

Wow. I'm speechless, too. Such an awesome, uplifting act of generosity and love. Thank you a million gazillion times over to the beautiful people who are helping you in this way. I'm not the one in need, but they've made my life a little better, too, by way of their example.

After reading yesterday's post with your difficult decisions, I just KNEW that the next post would be good news!
I so agree with Julia in that even though the gift was given to you, we all benefit, just being reminded that this kind of kindness and generosity of heart is still alive and well. What a blessing!

OH JESS . . . how TOTALLY WONDERFUL!!! The Lord works in mysterious ways . . . and works through those who can give. It certainly does boost my faith in the goodness in, not only God . . .but in the people He works through. AND . . . I can't agree more . . . . your family is so deserving. I so admire both your and Jeremy's attitude and determination!

God bless your family!
